What It Is

Conway's look-and-say sequence 1, 11, 21, 1211, 111221, 312211, ... emitted as a concatenated digit stream over {1,2,3}. Each term reads off the run-lengths of the previous ("one 1" -> 11, "two 1s" -> 21). For the standard seed the digits stay in {1,2,3}, and successive term lengths grow as lambda^n with lambda ~= 1.30357 (Conway's constant). Deterministic, self-describing cousin of Kolakoski.
