P-wave arrivals from 80 earthquakes (M3.7-5.4 realized; 111-498 km) at IU.ANMO --- 40 sps broadband vertical --- impulsive, relatively anti-persistent
Standard analysis sees: heavy-tailed; left-skewed; red spectrum (low-frequency / 1-over-f power); time-irreversible (sharp rises, slow decay); nonstationary / drifting. The atlas finds no named structure, but the source is distinctively extreme on AutoRegressive:ar_coef_2 (-3.9z) — beyond what the standard bank predicts for it.
AutoRegressive:ar_coef_2 | -3.9z | bank-miss 1.3σ |
Fractal (Mandelbrot):interior_fraction | +2.3z | bank-miss 1.2σ |
